Here’s Part 2 of my Reason 4 Thor as a filter series. In this video I use a Subtractor and some interesting Thor routings to show how Thor’s step sequencer can be used to modulate filter settings on the fly.

My goal is to focus on performance-based patches. Things that can be used to create music that is dynamic, varied and sonically interesting. Thor is very good at adding texture to any synth, even if the effect is subtle so I decided to focus my attention here for the moment.

So I’ve been saying that I would post some Reason 4 tutorials for a while now. I met up with some guys yesterday who inspired me to get on it. Here’s the first of a 3 part series about Thor and using it as a switchable filter in a Combinator patch. This particular video covers the basic routing concepts.
